Florida police have launched a desperate hunt for a missing two-year-old boy, believing he may have been abducted after his mother’s violent death.
Taylen Mosley, who just turned two on March 12, has been missing since his mother, Pashun Jeffrey, 20, was found dead at 2:30 p.m. yesterday in her Lincoln Shores apartment on 4th Street North.
St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway said at a news conference Thursday evening that Taylen was last seen with his mother around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday outside their apartment.
He described the “very violent murder scene in the apartment” and said police were unable to locate the child.
“So right now that’s our main concern – trying to find Taylen.”

Drone footage showed a busy crime scene with several police cars outside and crime scene tape around a parking lot.
Jeffrey’s car was seen with all doors open and materials on the floor around the car as police conducted their searches.
It is clear that Taylen and his mother were the only ones living in the apartment.
Holloway said they hadn’t contacted Taylen’s father yet, but were sure he wasn’t with him.
He said federal, state and county officials were assisting with the search.
Authorities are deploying canine units to aid in the search and plan to launch a drone.
The disappearance has led to a nationwide Amber Alert.
Police don’t yet have a suspect in Taylen’s disappearance.
His mother’s death is also under investigation.
On Twitter, police wrote she was murdered.
A neighbor said he heard “a commotion” Wednesday night, apparently from the apartment, but no one called police.
