Ekin-Su Culculoglu leaves fans in hysterics as she butchers pronounciation of Irish city Limerick

Ekin-Su Culculoglu left his Irish fans in hysterics when he mispronounced the name of the city of Limerick ahead of a visit there on Saturday.

The 28-year-old Love Island winner opened up about how she’ll be in Ireland this week to do a series of meet-and-greets with fans of cosmetics company BPerfect.

But it seems that Ekin-Su wasn’t entirely familiar with where she was going when she mangled the pronunciation of Limerick, a city in the Midwest of Ireland.

Sharing a video on social media, she said: ‘Hi guys so excited to meet you all for a meet and greet at BPerfect in Ireland this weekend.

‘So Thursday I’m in Belfast, Friday I’m in Wexford and Saturday I’m in Lime-rick.’ I can’t wait to meet you all, I’m super excited, I love Ireland and I love you all so I’ll see you there soon.

Limerick is actually pronounced lim-rick. Later, Ekin-Su shared another video in which she acknowledged her mispronunciation, but she still didn’t get it right the second time.

She said: ‘Here is an interesting fact. Lime-rick is apparently called Lim-er-ick in Irish. I apologize, I said Lime-rick, but his name is Lim-er-ick!

Several fans couldn’t resist teasing the star about the video, with one writing: “Girls I need you guys to listen to how Ekin-Su pronounces Limerick.”

Another said: “I tried variations of what I thought it might be but my mind was still blown.”

A third wrote: ‘Ah FFS’, while a radio station in Limerick quipped: ‘Great to know Ekin-Su is coming to LIME-Rick soon. We can’t wait to teach you how to say it when you get here.

Ekin-Su recently revealed that she will be leaving the UK to pursue a big acting role in the US as she updated fans on her career moves via her Instagram page on Wednesday.

The reality star told her followers that she is taking her brand ‘global this summer’ as she prepares to follow her ‘acting dream’.

It comes as MailOnline exclusively revealed earlier this week that the reality star had been dropped from Beauty Works, her second brand deal in two months.

Ekin-Su’s collaboration with the beauty brand ended suddenly after she previously parted ways with clothing brand Oh Polly.

The Turkish beauty opened up in a candid Instagram Story filmed from her kitchen in London, admitting she’s “really excited” about her upcoming projects abroad.

She said: ‘It’s been a while since I’ve been here. I know you have some questions about what’s going on and what’s on the way and you know I love you all, so I just wanted to talk to you here.

‘First of all, a lot of people have asked me what I have planned, so here it goes. I have a really exciting announcement to make.
