British parents have each been fined £200 after they were found drunk in a Gibraltar bar with their baby in a pram
- Police were tipped off by a bystander who had seen the child in the pram
- Both appeared drunk and spoke with double tongues, according to a police statement
Two British parents have been fined £200 each after they were found drunk with their baby in a Gibraltar bar.
Rosie Richardson-Jones, 35, and partner Bradley Skeats, 42, were each charged with ‘being intoxicated while in charge of a child’ after admitting their intoxicated condition to police.
The police were tipped off by a citizen who saw the drunk couple with their baby in a pram around 6 p.m. on Sunday evening, March 26.
Officials arrived at the bar where they questioned the couple. A report said they both slurred their words.
They were later taken to the police station and held there overnight.

“When officers spoke separately to Rosie Richardson-Jones, 35, and Bradley Skeats, 42, they appeared drunk, slurring their words, and unable to comprehend the seriousness of their actions,” a police spokesman said. Gibraltar.
“They were arrested after admitting to drinking all afternoon.”
“The pair were held overnight in police custody,” the statement added.
The Magistrates Court of Gibraltar heard the case the following morning. Both persons pleaded guilty.
“The RCP’s protection team and care agency are working together to develop a protection plan for the nine-month-old baby,” a statement said.
Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory bordering the southeast coast of Spain, is governed by British law. Legislation prohibiting drunkenness with custody of a child dates back to the Licensing Act of 1902.

This follows a similar case in 2019 where a British mother confessed to being drunk with two of her children at Gibraltar airport.
The mother was ordered to pay a fine of £250 after confessing to being drunk, which she blamed on her drunkenness.
The Briton was also fined a further £200 after admitting to tearing an officer’s shirt while being held.
