Nick Cave sells Grade I listed Brighton seafront mansion to city high-fliers for £2.9m

Decked out with flamingo pink carpets and walls and a clover green master bedroom, it’s clearly a rock star’s home.

But Nick Cave has now sold his palatial seaside mansion to a pair of high-flyers in the city for £2.9 million.

The eight-bedroom landmark house is located on Brighton’s coveted Lewes Crescent, which overlooks the sea.

The Grade II listed Regency house has four bathrooms, a gym, study, library and drawing room and has access to shared private gardens.

Cave, 65, and his designer wife, Susie Bick, 56, moved into the address more than 20 years ago.

The couple bought it in 2002 for just £165,000 and have made a huge profit from the sale.

Susie Bick opened her clothing design company, The Vampire’s Wife, in premises just a block away.

However, in 2014, the couple experienced tragedy when their son Arthur, 15, died after falling off cliffs not far from the home in Brighton.

And Cave’s eldest son Jethro Lazenby, 31, also tragically passed away last year.

Jethro died on May 7, 2022 – just two days after being released from prison in Australia.

At the time of his death, a judge had ordered Jethro to attend a drug treatment program and to stay away from his mother for two years, The Metro reports.

The 31-year-old had previously enjoyed a successful career as a model and had acted under the stage name Jethro Cave.

After Arthur’s death, the couple struggled to continue living in the house and eventually marketed it and moved to London.

But in November 2021, Cave wrote on his The Red Hand Files blog, “Brighton had just gotten too sad.

“However, we turned back when we realized that no matter where we lived, we just took our grief with us.

“However, nowadays we spend a lot of our time in London, in a small, secret, pink house, where we are mostly happy.”
