There are a lot of fans reaching out and really concerned, but I’m fine. People go through much worse things and it’s one of those things that you have to deal with.
Sebastian is embroiled in a legal battle with his neighbour, Phillip Hanslow, who was mentioned in Waverley Local Court on March 9.
Hanslow, 66, was charged in January with threatening to kill the musician and tearing down the fence of his adjoining property in Maroubra during the alleged altercation.
He was also hit with an apprehended violence order (AVO) for Sebastian’s protection, prohibiting him from contacting the singer or setting foot on his property.
The retiree was represented by celebrity attorney Bryan Wrench, who told the court that he was waiting for Sebastian to provide him with footage of the alleged incident.
Wrench told the court: “We hope that the images show [Sebastian] above Mr. Hanslow with a brick in hand.
However, the singer responded to the accusation during a television interview on Friday morning, claiming that a lot was said about the court case “that is not true.”
The singer is in the middle of a bitter legal battle with his elderly neighbor in Maroubra, which started over the singer’s mansion he shares with his wife Jules.
“This is an ongoing thing, not an isolated event, there was something that happened between me and him where I basically asked him to stop damaging my property,” he said.
“There were some things that were said on his part that forced me to call the police,” he alleged.
Sebastian insisted that it was not ‘me against him’, stressing that it was not his decision to remove the AVO: the police decided to do it on his behalf.
‘As a public person, I’ll accept it, there will be things that will be said, but it’s like where do I start?’ he said.
“I know it’s more of a story to change the narrative so that I’m the bad guy in some way, but it’s not entirely true.”
Hanslow, 66, was charged in January with threatening to kill the musician and tearing down the fence of his adjoining property in Maroubra during the alleged altercation. In the photo, Hanslow is arrested in front of his house in Maroubra.
Sebastián did not provide the security images before the original deadline of March 9, so on Thursday the magistrate gave him an extension until March 23.
Failure to comply with the subpoena could result in your arrest, and the matter will return to court in May.
Wrench also told the court that the alleged altercation started because Hanslow was fixing his fence to match the look of the singer’s concrete fortress.
“The fence is already finished and I think it’s a pretty good render,” he said.
Wrench said he did not believe the matter would be resolved, indicating that he would likely go to a hearing.
Outside of court, Hanslow exclusively told Daily Mail Australia that he was not concerned about the conclusion of the case.
“I don’t really care what happens to me,” he told Daily Mail Australia.
‘What are you going to do to me? Defend the AVO and fine me for the fence?
I wouldn’t even be here if Guy wasn’t famous.
