The wife of Australian actor Luke Cook has lamented that the United States is a “scary” place to raise children after a shooting at a school in Nashville left three children and three adults dead.

New Zealand-born hairstylist Kara Cook, who is based in Los Angeles, said she was holding her babies “very tight” in a candid Instagram post on Tuesday.

Sharing a sweet photo of Luke snuggling up with his two children, the celebrity hairstylist wrote: “Grateful for my beautiful family.”

Luke and Kara moved to Los Angeles to pursue Luke’s acting career several years ago, recently seeing a surge in popularity thanks to his role in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Since then, the actor has taken on roles in Dollface and Dynasty, while Kara has built her career as a stylist working with the likes of Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber.

The couple share a son Chaplin, two, and Ozzie, seven months.

Luke opened up about his firstborn son in an interview with Daily Mail Australia in February.

“It’s been such a bloody joy and I can’t wait to see what he looks like when he’s older and how he’s going to talk,” he gushed.

Luke added that he intends to be a “cool dad.”

“Cool dad vibes is what it’s all about,” she said.

‘I am so happy to be the father of a very cute son. Not many people get to have really cute babies.

“We have been very happy to have this beautiful child and we are very grateful that he is healthy.”

Kara’s comments come as a 28-year-old girl broke down the door of a Christian school she attended as a child, killing six people in Nashville, Tennessee.

Audrey Hale arrived at the Covenant School in her Honda Fit just before 10 am and killed six people before she was shot dead.

Hale opened fire on police arriving from the second floor of the school before she was confronted by Officer Rex Englebert, a four-year MNPD veteran, and Officer Michael Collazo, a nine-year MNPD veteran. The couple returned fire, shooting her dead.
