British-trained Ukrainian army crews have returned home to fight Vladimir Putin’s invasion with Challenger 2 tanks.
The troops arrived in Britain following an announcement in January that the UK would donate 14 of the armored vehicles to Ukraine.
They will now return with the tanks – the first deployed by any country in Ukraine – in time for a reported spring counter-offensive by Kiev.
The training included how to command, drive and cooperate as a Challenger 2 crew, identify and attack targets.

Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said: ‘It is inspiring to witness the determination of Ukrainian soldiers who have completed their training on British Challenger 2 tanks on British soil.
‘They return better equipped, but no less dangerous, to their homeland. We will continue to do everything we can to support Ukraine for as long as necessary.’
