Tottenham could have competition in their bid to bring in Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager as Real Madrid are reportedly set to make a move for the recently sacked German.
Nagelsmann was sacked by Bayern Munich last week in a brutal 61-minute crisis meeting, and the Bavarian team named Thomas Tuchel as his replacement.
With Nagelsmann free, Spurs now want to enter talks of him becoming their next permanent manager after Daniel Levy finally pulled the trigger and sacked Antonio Conte on Sunday night.
However, Real Madrid are also considering signing the 35-year-old given the uncertainty of Carlo Ancelotti’s future at the Bernabéu.
However, any move by Nagelsmann will not come cheap, reports in Germany suggest.

Spurs are looking for a new permanent manager after sacking Antonio Conte on Sunday night
Real manager Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a move away from the Bernabéu this summer.
According to Bild, any club interested in signing Nagelsmann before the end of the current campaign will have to pay compensation to Bayern Munich, given that the Bavarian club still pays his £8m-per-year salary despite sacking him.
The Bild report also claims that Real Madrid may have asked to pay part of the deal to speed up talks with the young manager going forward, given that Ancelotti has been linked to working for the Brazil team.
Nagelsmann remains first on Spurs’ wish list when it comes to naming Conte’s successor.
After a week of intense speculation and confusion, the north London club finally Announced late on the Sunday night that Conte had departed by mutual consent.
It came after his extraordinary tirade following the club’s 3-3 draw with Southampton last week, in which he attacked the players and cited the club’s modern failures in major competitions.
With Conte’s departure sometime between now and the summer expected for some time, the club have been able to put together a list of options as they look to land a replacement this summer. Cristian Stellini will take over until the end of the season with Ryan Mason as assistant.
Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto De Zerbi and Luis Enrique are just among some of the ten names Spurs have on their list to potentially replace Conte.
