Kelly Clarkson announces new album Chemistry will be ‘arc of an entire relationship’

Kelly Clarkson is about to release her tenth studio album and first single “very soon”.

The singer-turned-talk show host took to her Instagram page on Sunday to announce the new release, which she has titled Chemistry.

‘Okay, it’s official time to tell you that I’ve been working on this project for almost three years. And I wasn’t sure if I was going to release it, but I am,” she shared.

The Fort Worth, Texas native then proceeded to reveal the reasons behind the title.

“The album is called Chemistry, and it’s called Chemistry because I was trying to find a word, and it could also be one of the songs on the album, but I was trying to find a word that would really describe everything.”

Trying to find the right words to describe the title, she continued, “I didn’t want everyone to think I was coming out with something like, ‘I’m mad, I’m sad,’ just one or two emotions. You know, this album is definitely the arc of a complete relationship, and a complete relationship should not be reduced to one thing.

The Kelly Clarkson Show host, who has been open about not remarrying after her 2020 split from Brandon Blackstock and eventual divorce, shared that she thinks ‘cChemistry can be a really amazing, sexy and fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you.’

In an interview with Variety, Clarkson revealed the The new music was inspired by the emotional journey she went through during her divorce from Blackstock, who was also her former music manager and the father of her two young children.

He finished the announcement by sharing that he thinks Chemistry “was the perfect title to describe the whole album and that it’s ‘coming out soon’.”
