Man United target Kim Min-jae hits out at ‘NONSENSE’ transfer rumours

Napoli defender Kim Min-jae slams ‘NONSENSE’ transfer rumors linking him with a summer move to Man United, as the South Korean star admits speculation about his future makes him ‘uncomfortable’ ‘

Manchester United target Kim Min-jae has criticized rumors linking him to a move away from Napoli.

The South Korean star signed for the Italian side for around £15m from Fenerbahce in July and has been brilliant ever since, helping Luciano Spalletti’s side to the top of Serie A.

Given his excellent performances in defense, defender Kim has been linked with a transfer to several top European clubs, including United and Tottenham.

But after his country’s 2-2 draw against Colombia in an international friendly on Friday, the 26-year-old central midfielder insisted those rumors were false.

He said: ‘As you know, those rumors are not true at all. I want to focus on my team. I have many tournaments to play.

But Kim, 26, speaking after his country’s 2-2 draw against Colombia in an international friendly on Friday, insisted that speculation of a move is simply “nonsense” and makes it “uncomfortable.”

‘I have had these rumors for four or years. It is uncomfortable. I hope you don’t spread those stories.

‘I don’t mind transfer rumors because they’re not true. Now I’m focusing on the team, instead of that kind of nonsense.

“There are so many important games ahead and at the moment I just want to focus on Napoli.”

The international with 48 caps has been a mainstay in Napoli’s defence, playing 26 of the 27 league games this season and scoring twice.

He has also made eight Champions League appearances, and his team will face Italian outfit AC Milan in the first leg of their quarterfinal on April 12.

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is expected to draft at centre-back this summer, with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof out of favor and the likes of Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones all but certain to go.

Next up for Kim, South Korea will face Uruguay in another friendly on March 28.

Then he returns to the club with Partenopei on April 2 against Milan.
