A vet assistant has compiled a warning guide for prospective dog owners, sharing what may lie ahead as they search for their new best friend.

The advice, in the form of humorous ‘warning labels’, warns that huskies will require pet insurance, beagles are ‘drama queens’ and corgis have a ‘Napoleonic complex’.

The vet assistant shared the three-part series on her TikTok under the name @isie_xxiv with the caption “warning labels you wish came with these dog breeds.”

The narrator is an AI generated voice over a photo of the specific dog with the warning sign.

For the Australian Shepherd, he warns, “You can come home after a 10-mile hike and still be game for hours.” Next up is The Doberman, who is said to “go from cinnamon roll to psycho in an instant.”

This popular sheepdog is known to have a bit of a “Napoleon complex,” according to the veterinary assistant, who took a humorous approach to many of the “warnings.”

For Border Collies they wrote: “whatever amount of exercise you think this dog needs, multiply it by 10.” While the Australian Cattle Dog was said to be “similar to border collies but with a hint of murderous intent and on crack”.

For those looking for a less active dog and a slightly lazier breed, be warned that the gigantic Great Dane is the largest lap dog around.

“Prepare your body for the biggest lapdog you’ll ever own,” says the voice.

The dachshund, they warned, has an inexhaustible appetite and loves to convince its owners that they are “starving,” even after they have eaten.

Some of the breeds have health problems that could be a burden on owners, both physically and financially.

Labradors, for example, put up with “toxin ingestion, foreign bodies, fatty growths, and much more,” according to the veterinary assistant. Taking a serious turn, they wrote that the Cavalier King Charles “is a heart failure time bomb.”

The adorable Bulldog and Pug, known for their squashed, wrinkled faces, also require special care.

“You’ll be cleaning cracks for the rest of their lives,” read the warning label for the Bulldog and its wrinkled folds, the voice says.

Pugs, with their flat faces, are prone to respiratory problems such as brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS).

Some of the larger, tougher breeds included the German Shepherd, and the narrator advised “investing in obedience training or paying for sedatives for all doctor visits.”

The Pitbull, known for being rough and tough, will actually “mostly just scratch his skin,” according to the vet assistant.

It’s unclear which clinic the veterinary assistant works at, but her videos have attracted pet lovers from far and wide and garnered thousands of views.
