Rachel Bilson, 41, said not having an orgasm from sex until 38 had ‘nothing to do with any partner’
Rachel Bilson added new details Thursday about her recent claim that she had not had an orgasm until she was 38, when she appeared on The Nick Viall Files podcast.
“It has nothing to do with any partner,” the 41-year-old OC actress said on the podcast. ‘It had to do with me knowing my body.’
The Los Angeles-born actress followed up on comments she made earlier this month on her Broad Ideas podcast while chatting with comedian Whitney Cummings about intimacy.
In the appearance, Bilson, who previously dated comedian Bill Hader, revealed that she didn’t orgasm during sex until she was 38, adding: “Isn’t that crazy?”
The Hart of Dixie star on Viall’s podcast explained that she offered the details after Cummings said she hadn’t had an orgasm until she was in her 40s, after going off birth control.
The Latest: Rachel Bilson added new details Thursday about her recent claim that she hadn’t orgasmed until she was 38, when she appeared on The Nick Viall Files podcast, saying it had nothing to do with her partners anyway.
“I just jumped on it and said, ‘When I was older, I could do that too,'” Bilson said.
Bilson said she did not intend to spark speculation about her romantic history in the wake of her revelation.
“Apparently names were mentioned on both counts and I don’t agree with that, because it had nothing to do with it,” he said.
After Viall said they were “not shaming any exes,” Bilson added: “Nor giving any other exes a trophy.”
The Take Two star said “no one was involved apart from” herself.
Last year, Bilson confirmed her previous romance with Hader, which ended in 2020, the year she turned 39.
Bilson was previously in an on-again, off-again decade-long romance (and 18-month engagement) with actor Hayden Christensen, which ended in September 2017. The couple share a daughter, eight-year-old Briar Rose, and have remained friendly.
The acting duo originally met playing love interests in Doug Liman’s caper Jumper and went on to co-star in the 2009 New York romantic comedy anthology I Love You as well as Sarik Andreasyan’s 2014 drama American Heist.

The actress sparked speculation about a romance with Hader, 44, of Saturday Night Live, when they attended the Golden Globes together in 2020.
‘[Bill and I] dated two years ago! I went to the fucking Golden Globes with him!’ Rachel said during Monday’s episode of her broad ideas podcast.
Rachel, known to audiences for her role as Summer Roberts on the teen drama series The OC, was speaking with Aubrey Plaza when she made the revelation and the podcast host seemed shocked by the revelation.
Aubrey said, ‘Are you serious? I don’t know shit! I know nothing!
While Rachel didn’t share anything else about Bill specifically, she did admit that he had been through a “really tough break” during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
He told guest Mandy Moore: ‘I couldn’t leave my house, you know what I mean? I had nothing else to do but sit on it, deal with it, and feel it. ‘It was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, harder than giving birth. He hurt me like a son of a bitch!
Around the same time, a source alleged that Rachel had gone through an ‘amicable’ split from Bill.
However, Rachel admitted on the podcast that she’s gotten over the breakup and is now “looking for the next thing.”
Back then: Though she didn’t share specific details, Rachel finally confirmed last year that she dated SNL star Bill Hader in 2020; the couple co-starred in the 2013 comedy The To-Do List.
