Resident Evil 4 remake: Village Chief’s Manor combination lock puzzle solutions

Complete resident evil 4‘s Chapter 2 asks you to solve a few puzzles in the Country house of the village chief — a combination lock with symbols and a spinning Crystal Marble puzzle. Unlocking the combination lock will give you the Crystal Marble which you will then need to use on another lock.

Country house of the village chief

You reach the village chief’s mansion at the very end of chapter 2. When you get there, the front door is locked, so you enter through the back.

After you’re done looting everything that isn’t nailed down, there are two locks to deal with – one combination lock downstairs and the bedroom door lock.

Combination lock solution

At the top of the stairs is a typewriter (and a red herb) to your left.

A little further down the corridor is a book with the Illuminations 4:3 file – which also has that slot’s combination: Crop, pigAnd Darling (as with baby).

Back down, the icons on the lock are a bit sketchy. The Crop resembles bay leaves, the pig resembles an armadillo, and the Darling looks like a little man looking to the left. Inside you will find the Crystal Marble.

Place the Crystal Marble to the upstairs bedroom door. You need to rotate it so that the air bubbles line up with the symbol in the lock:

• Turn it up until it resembles the upside down symbol
• Turn it sideways 180°
• Rotate it 180° down
