Guy Sebastian accused of withholding crucial CCTV footage in Maroubra neighbour feud

The famous lawyer representing Guy Sebastian’s elderly neighbor has sensationally claimed in court that there are two boys – one good and one bad.

Bryan Wrench told Waverley Local Court on Thursday that Sebastian was quiet withholding camera footage that is essential to the case.

“Maybe there’s a good guy from Australian Idol Guy Sebastian. but I’m sorry to say there’s a bad guy from Guy Sebastian,” he said.

The Battle Scars singer has accused his 66-year-old neighbor Phillip Hanslow of killing him during a long-running dispute between the pair.

Wrench was handed a USB stick containing security footage on Wednesday after Sebastian was served a subpoena.

But after reviewing the USB, he told magistrate Jacqueline Milledge that it did not contain the pertinent argument between his client and Sebastian.

“There was an argument, but (Guy Sebastian) is not afraid,” said Wrench, describing the singer’s attitude towards Mr Hanslow as “sarcastic and demeaning”.

Wrench asked Mrs. Milledge for another week to have the “missing” CCTV footage produced by Sebastian’s lawyers.

Outside court, he said: “We expect justice and nothing but the truth in this matter.”

Hanslow is accused of threatening to kill Sebastian on January 23 and kicking down a fence that separated their adjacent Maroubra properties.

The alleged altercation followed years of rising tensions over the pop star’s massive concrete mansion, which cost $7 million to buy and completely rebuild.

The bitter feud began in 2013 when Sebastian, 41, and his wife Jules Egan, 43, bought their property in Maroubra, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, for $3.1 million.

When they demolished the house to build their sprawling new dream home, it sparked a feud with their new neighbors.

Hanslow claims debris from the demolition damaged his house when a “rock missile” slammed into an outside wall, narrowly missing his living room window and his terminally ill wife Carol, who was inside watching TV.

And he thought the final design of Sebastian’s new house was an ugly fortress because of the imposing and windowless facade, which reached to the edge of his house.

During the altercation on Jan. 23, Hanslow is accused of telling the Battle Scars hitmaker, “I’ll put a bullet in your head.” Hanslow believes, however, that he actually said, “One day someone will put a bullet in your head.”

Police raided Hanslow’s home in the following days, arriving at the elderly man’s home while he was on the toilet.

He was arrested, charged and beaten with a warrant of violence for the protection of Sebastian.

Out of court, Hanslow told Daily Mail Australia that his neighbor was a “vengeful” person.

“He’s paranoid about security and has a big security camera outside, so everywhere I go outside on the property he can see…” he claimed earlier this month.

“We’ll have to sell. We’re too old for this.’

During a TV interview earlier this month, Sebastian claimed that much had been said about the lawsuit “that’s not true.”

“This is an ongoing thing, not an isolated event, something happened between me and him where I actually asked him to stop damaging my property,” he said.

“There were some things that were said from his side that made me call the police,” he claimed.

Sebastian was adamant that it wasn’t “me against him” and stressed that he wasn’t the one issuing a warrant for violence.

“It is the police who have decided to take the initiative to take out an AVO,” he continued.

‘As a public person I will manage, things will be said, but where do I start?’.
