Police have found no trace of a woman who was reported missing more than 10 hours ago after she was reportedly swept off the cliffs at a popular Gold Coast beach.
Gold Coast Police launched a massive search for the woman after she was reported missing from Currumbin Beach at around 9:30pm on Tuesday.
The search saw officers look both ashore and out to sea amid rough conditions and rain.
The woman’s alleged disappearance was reported by a man who was in the water when she fell.
The man then reported the incident to other witnesses on the beach, but disappeared before police arrived.

Police discovered fishing gear on the rocks but found no sign of the woman with nearby CCTV footage inconclusive.
They are now calling on the man to come forward after admitting they have yet to determine whether or not there is a missing woman.
“It is critical that this man contacts us,” Acting Superintendent Scott Knowles said.
“We need to know firsthand what he saw.
“We have an idea who he may be and have made some inquiries and haven’t been able to find him, but it would be of great help if he contacted the police.”

If the woman was swept away, police say they have serious concerns for her safety.
The search, which began last night, had to be called off due to rough seas.
Due to the wet weather, police were unable to deploy helicopters to assist searchers.
They urge anyone with information to call them immediately.
