The ‘Emmerdale villain is set to wreak ‘chaos’ on the town as they make an explosive comeback ‘after a decade off-screen

Emmerdale is reportedly set to welcome a villain to the ITV soap, after almost a decade off the screen.

Carl King’s son Thomas is set to return to the Dales next month, having last set foot in the village in 2013, where he terrorized locals after his father’s death.

The teenager, at the time played by Mark Flanagan, left Chas Dingle terrified as he stalked her over her part in his father’s death: she had initially hit him with a brick before Cameron Murray returned to deliver the killing blow.

He also began a relationship with Belle Dingle and the two planned to run away together, prompting Belle’s late mother Lisa to call the police fearing he had kidnapped her, before Thomas finally changed his mind.

Thomas also robbed Dan Spencer’s caravan twice while also getting into mischief with Dan’s son Sean in the village, including stealing the late Sandy Thomas’ mobility scooter.

said a source Sun: ‘Tom’s return is going to be explosive. He surprises Uncle Jimmy about him when he returns to town and it is unclear why he came back.

Fans will be glued to their screens watching Tom’s return unfold, and his presence could cause chaos.

“Everyone will ask if he’s as evil as his father Carl and wonder why he’s back.”

MailOnline has contacted Emmerdale for comment.

The publication goes on to report that newcomer James Chase has snapped up the role of the returning character.

It comes as Emmerdale boss Jane Hudson teased a ‘spectacular’ summer and a character return.

She told The Sun: ‘We’re working on summer stories and I always like to have a spectacular summer. So if I say that, I have to think of something now.’
