Channel Nine plans to make a local version of the classic game show Jeopardy!

The Australian series will be filmed in the UK with Australian expatriates as contestants to accommodate British presenter Stephen Fry.

Danger! Australia will comprise six ‘special’ episodes instead of a full season, reports tv tonight.

The show’s format has contestants using their best general knowledge to rack up money as they compete in three rounds.

Contest Fans You have until May 12 to apply to participate. They must be Australian, over the age of 18 and currently residing in the UK.

The show will be filmed in Manchester by production company Whisper North Ltd.

Fry is now set to direct a 20-episode daytime reboot of Jeopardy! for British television later this year.

‘In the United States, Jeopardy! It is a phenomenon like no other. Every time I’m in America, I do everything I can to catch it every day of the week,” he said.
