A day in the life of Maya Jama as ‘stressed’ star details her 5am wake-ups

Maya Jama gave fans a glimpse into her hectic lifestyle as she detailed her typical work day.

The 28-year-old host appeared on Amazon Prime’s new series Live Italian, which takes celebrities on a tour of Italy to take a break from their busy lives and discover what it really means to slow down, enjoy the simple pleasures in life and really living Italian.

Presenter Lodovica Comello showed Maya around the sights and asked Mata about her ‘busy and stressful’ lifestyle.

The Love Island host responded: “On a busy day [day] It’s like waking up at 5am, doing your hair and makeup for an hour, an hour in the car…

“It’s hard to get work/life balance. I’ve always struggled with that, friends, family, work all rolled into one, it’s so hard.”

speaking to The times In 2018, Maya previously revealed that “if I could, I’d stay in bed all day,” admitting, “even if I have a day off, I’m up at 8.”

She went on to say that she would start her day by dancing in the kitchen while making her breakfast, noting, “It’s a great way to work up a sweat without doing a lot of exercise.”

As for her prep routine, she continued, “There are a lot of days where I ‘have’ to do my makeup and hair, so it’s nice to take a break from that.” A quick shower, do my hair, no makeup, T-shirt and leggings.

In an attempt to have a healthy work-life balance, she continued: ‘At least once a week I try to have a girls’ night. And that usually turns into a girls’ night out!

Trying to slow down, Maya teamed up with Italian singer and presenter Lodovica as they hit the streets of Milan and Cremona to explore the role music plays in Italian culture.

Maya took up violin making in the episode and tried her hand at training as a soprano before unleashing Italo Disco beats to a crowd of excited Milanese.

Speaking about what he had learned from the experience, he said: ‘My journey has been a lovely one. I have knowledge of Italian music.

‘Thank you for educating me on how to live in Italian and helping me to be a little bit more Italian.’

Maya took on another job this year after being announced as the host of Love Island.

On taking on the role of Laura Whitmore, Maya said on The Jonathan Ross Show: “I was so nervous. Obviously it’s a very big show, everybody watches it, everybody has an opinion.

“A lot of people online said, ‘We want Maya to host.’ So I kind of felt like, I don’t want to let anyone down.

“I don’t want it to be like, ‘You guys wanted me to do it and now I’m shit.’ So I felt that pressure, and to get the slow motion walk right…

Talking about her famous sexy strut on the show, she explained: ‘You do a normal strut about three or four times. You have to sexy a little.

My friends and I the night before we went we had a big girls night out and they were like, “Okay, show us how you’re going to walk.”

“As soon as I got there and the camera crew was there, I was like, ‘I can’t do it,’ but you do it four or five times and they pick the best one.”
