Drew Barrymore shares an adorable response to Hugh Grant saying her singing is ‘horrendous’

Hugh Grant was promoting his new movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves in a new video interview with WIRED earlier this week, where he was asked to answer some of the “most searched questions on the web,” when he mocked Drew Barrymore.

One of them was whether or not the 62-year-old actor actually sang in his 2007 film Music & Lyrics, in which he starred opposite Drew Barrymore.

Grant revealed that he actually sang, adding that it was “self-tuned a little bit, but not as bad as some”, adding: “Drew Barrymore was in that movie with me, and I don’t think he minds me saying, his singing is just horrendous. .

Her Dungeons & Dragons co-stars Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez laughed, with Grant adding, “I’ve heard dogs bark better than she sings,” though he admitted, “Once they tuned her in, she sounded a lot better than I did.” “. ‘Cause she has heart and voice and rock and roll while I sound like Julie Andrews.

Barrymore took to Instagram on Thursday to respond to Grant, singing the Music & Lyrics song – A Way Back Into Love.

The daytime talk show host was dressed in a brown top and brown pants as she sang the tune in her dressing room for The Drew Barrymore Show.

She sang a few verses from the song into a hairbrush, before turning to the camera and addressing her former co-star.

‘Oh Hugh… bert, Hugh-bert. That’s for you,’ Barrymore said with a smile.

Music & Lyrics followed an ’80s pop star named Alex Fletcher (Grant), whose partner went on to a successful music career while he’s happy to continue performing for fans at ’80s revivals and reunions.

His manager Chris Riley (Brad Garrett) tells him that a rising pop star named Cora Corman (Haley Bennett) wants him to write a song for her called A Way Back Into Love.

Although Chris insists he could revive his career, Alex was never the songwriter, though he discovers that the woman who has been tending his plants, Sophie (Barrymore), has a knack for lyrics.

They make an unconventional team as they put the song together on a tight deadline to try and please the rising star.

The film was a modest success, earning $50 million domestically and $145.8 million worldwide on a budget of $40 million.

The interview comes just days after Grant made headlines for a rather embarrassing interview on the Oscars red carpet with model Ashley Graham.

‘What was it like to be in Glass Onion? How fun is it to film something like that?’

But he was met with an embarrassing response: “Well, I barely participated, I was in for about three seconds,” Hugh quipped.

‘It must have been fun though, you had fun right?’ Ashley said as she went through the one-sided chat.

‘Erm…almost,’ the actor replied while looking away.

Trying to get an interview, Graham asked: ‘What are you wearing?’ although Hugh only offered: ‘My suit’.
