Aussie icon Adam Gilchrist tops cricket rich list with $380million net worth – but there’s a problem
Australian legend Adam Gilchrist tops cricket’s rich list with a whopping net worth of $380 MILLION, but there’s one small problem.
- Wicketkeeper topped the list of top earners
- He entered ahead of the legend Sachin Tendulkar
- Ricky Ponting also made the cut on the rich list
Fearless wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist has beaten fellow gaming legends Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting to top a cricket-rich list with a staggering net worth of $380 million, but all is not as it seems.
The pecking order of the biggest millionaires in sports was released this week by World Index, a Twitter account that specializes in top 10 lists with more than 470,000 followers.
He ranked the Australian legend first, well ahead of Tendulkar on $170m, fellow Indian icon MS Dhoni on $115m and Ricky Ponting on $75m, but whoever compiled him made a crucial mistake.
The Adam Gilchrist they are referring to is the Australian co-founder of the global fitness empire F45, which is currently at risk of having some of its assets seized due to a Federal Court action taken by creditors seeking $10.8 million.

A list compiled by the World Index and posted on Twitter mistook the wicketkeeper for another famous Australian who goes by the same name.
Gilchrist was CEO of the gym chain until he resigned on July 22 after the company suffered a shocking drop in its share price.
Gilchrist, a cricketer, took to Twitter to set the record straight shortly after the list was published.
“A case of mistaken identity here folks,” he wrote.
“Unless, of course, my namesake who founded F45 played cricket, in which case it’s completely accurate #doyurresearch #fakenews #yasafesachin.”
Fixing the bug puts Tendulkar at the top of the list.

The fearless batsman took to Twitter to clear up any confusion, leaving Indian icon Sachin Tendulkar as the richest cricketer on the planet.
The ‘Little Master’ has extensive property and investment portfolios, a large collection of expensive cars, financed by his generous salary while still playing, his Cricket Board of Control pay package in India since he retired and ambassadorial duties. for major brands including Castrol, BMW, Pepsi and Adidas.
Ricky Ponting, the richest Australian on the revised list, recently paid $20 million for a six-bedroom mansion in the ultra-exclusive Melbourne suburb of Toorak.
Property features include wrought iron staircases, marble kitchen countertops, a luxurious swimming pool and a tennis court.
He and his wife Rianna also own another seven-bedroom mansion in nearby Brighton, reportedly purchased for $9.2 million in 2013, in addition to their $3.5 million ‘weekend’ in Portsea on the Mornington Peninsula.
The former Australian captain made a fortune in the Indian Premier League while playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians.
