Former President Barack Obama was followed by several members of his team.
He and other members of his detail were seen gathering by the jet’s ladder.
Van Nuys Airport is a public airport in North Los Angeles.
Kutcher and his wife Mila Kunis met Leonardo DiCaprio at the airport last year after a trip to the Bahamas.
DiCaprio, who was waiting to board his own private jet, gave Kunis a fist bump before exchanging what appeared to be a few friendly words with her.
The three gathered at a private jet terminal struck an ironic note, as all of them are noted for their vocal support of ecological issues.
More than five years ago, Kutcher invested in BlackJet, an on-demand private jet startup with others including Jay Z, Will Smith and Marc Benioff. It closed in 2016.
It is not clear if Kutcher owns the plane Obama was boarding or if it was chartered.
