Daisy Pearce catches police abusing online trolls during Richmond vs Carlton AFL match at MCG

Proof that some footy fans STILL can’t handle a great female commentator as trolls unite against premiership winner Daisy Pearce during Carlton v Richmond game

Daisy Pearce has drawn harsh criticism for her commentary during the first game of the season, with some AFL fans still unwilling to give the footy a big chance despite her obvious talent behind the microphone.

Pearce, one of the most respected commentators in the country and an AFLW icon, admitted last year that criticism of her broadcasting style had “exhausted” her.

She was involved in a feud with ex-AFL legends Dermott Brereton and Rex Hunt, with the latter accusing Channel Seven of ‘ruining the game’ by letting her comment.

And despite the excellent work on the mic for Richmond’s dramatic draw with Carlton on Thursday night, some fans still couldn’t get over the fact that Pearce is here to stay.

“The only bad thing about footy’s return is that so is Daisy Pearce,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Why is Daisy Pearce commenting on footy, she’s sad and I’m all for girl power,” said another.

A third fan posted, “Thank goodness the other commenters are attracting Daisy Pearce with the garbage coming out of her mouth.”

Another Twitter user simply posted, “Daisy Pearce:” with a gif of nails being scraped on a blackboard.

“What have we done to deserve the abomination Daisy Peace as a special commentary?” said another. “FFS!”

“I muted the sound [sic] Daisy Peace is ruining the game.’

Last year, Pearce said she wouldn’t let the haters get her down.

‘It’s only two weeks of discussion, it sucks a bit of energy. Imagine how much more preparation I could have done this weekend if I hadn’t emotionally processed this drop by drop,” she said on SEN.

“Having your credibility questioned because you’re a woman isn’t something new that I’m just starting to deal with. I’m pretty fat for that matter.’
