Pregnant divides opinion after sharing her list of unusual names for her baby
Would YOU call your baby one of these unique names? The mom-to-be divides opinion after sharing her unusual list
One mom-to-be took to TikTok to share her list of rather unusual baby names.
Ailie Smith, from Redhead in New South Wales, Australia, filmed the video while preparing lunch and it has since racked up over 30,000 views.
The fashion designer said: ‘So my list of baby names is solid. So now that we’re nearing the end of my pregnancy, I’ve started to refine it and we’ve come down to four that we’re just going to monitor.
‘I thought I’d share the other names because it’s too good not to share. It has been years in the making. Starting with boys’ names, one we had was Rou. He is French.
“So the other name I’ve had has been the longest on my list; I sure thought I was going to use it.”
Ailie Smith, from Redhead in New South Wales, Australia, filmed the video while preparing lunch and it has since racked up over 30,000 views.
“But four years ago I started an underwear line and I named the underwear line after my unborn baby thinking okay, I’ll still wear it.” And that name is Augie. I love female names for boys.
Ailie, who is eight months pregnant, went on to say: “Which brings us to my next name, which is, and stay with me, stay with me, Abbe/Abbi.”
‘I don’t know how I would spell it if I were to name my baby Abbi, but I’m thinking ABBE or ABB I. And again, it’s French.
The other name is George. The other name is Margot, I think it’s great for a boy, I love these girly names for boys. The last name on the boys list is Clo. I don’t think I’ve really seen it done. Very cool.’
She continued: ‘Okay, girl names. The first one is Maggie, it hurts a little to say it out loud because now I definitely can’t use it, but I love that name, always have.
“I think it’s a good balance between strong and feminine. It sounds nice and looks nice. The last girl, because I only have two, is Agnes. What a gorg name, so strong and with such a good balance between (feminine) and (masculine)
“The other four names we have reserved for the baby I’m making now and a possible future baby are so beautiful, I love them so much they’ll just have to wait and see.”
But people in the comments were divided on their list, with some saying they loved the names, while others weren’t too interested.
Ailie then started revealing her list of unusual and unique baby names, but she won’t be naming any of them for the baby she’s pregnant with.
Reaction: Viewers took to the comments to share their thoughts on Ailie’s baby names, and while some loved them, others didn’t.
One user said, “I love girly boy names too,” while another commented, “I love August, and he’d be called Augie for short.” A third wrote: ‘Love Rou and Abbe!’
But others were unsure of the names, as one TikTok user wrote: “These names are not cute lol.” Another wrote: “Love these but you’re naming an adult.” A third commented: ‘Sorry, no.’
