I work in McDonald’s and here are 10 most annoying things people do, including weird burger requests
I’m A McDonald’s Employee – These Are The 10 Most Annoying Things Customers Do, Including A Baffling Request For A Cheeseburger
A McDonald’s employee has opened up about the 10 most annoying things customers do, including a baffling request for a cheeseburger.
Harry Oliver, from the UK, has shared several videos on his TikTok page about working in the fast food chain since he started his account in May 2022.
Last month, the social media star uploaded a five-second clip detailing some of his annoyances that he regularly deals with at work.
Harry filmed himself in his uniform in the teachers’ lounge at his local branch and wrote, “Things customers say/do that baffle me.”
For starters, the McDonald’s employee says he can’t stand it when people ask if the fries are hot before ordering them.
UK’s Harry Oliver went viral on TikTok last month when he shared two videos about the ‘mind-boggling’ things customers do
He wrote: ‘How [the f***] would I know?’
Second, Harry objects to people “asking for a cheeseburger with no cheese” – rather than just ordering a standard burger.
In addition, the employee hit back at customers who complained that a Quarter Pounder also contained cheese.
Listing another of his pet peeves, Harry added, “If they don’t use table service, but sit down expecting us to know where they are.”
Finally, the fast food employee also attacked people who “call their order very often.”
Harry’s video got over 635,000 views and 72,800 likes – prompting him to film a follow-up clip.
While taking orders at the Drive-Thru, Harry said he couldn’t help but get annoyed when people didn’t say clearly what they want.
He explained, “When they mumble their order, but then get mad at me when I say, ‘sorry, what was that?” for the fourth time.
The social media star’s videos struck a chord with other fast food workers — prompting them to share their own customer annoyances
“Like it’s my fault I really can’t hear you because you parked 20 meters away.”
Harry then berated customers who took out their frustrations on employees when their milkshake machines broke down.
In addition, the social media star says he finds it frustrating when people aren’t more specific with their drink orders.
He added: “If they ask for coffee and I say, ‘yeah, don’t worry – what coffee?’
And they answer, “just a coffee?”
Meanwhile, the employee says he only gets annoyed when customers ask for salt packets for their fries — even though they asked for it to be unseasoned when they placed the order.
Finally, Harry’s latest pet peeve is when people ask for extra toppings on their McFlurry.
He then captioned his second video, “I could go on for days.
‘PS I really like my job [to be honest] only some customers confuse me and you would probably understand that only if you work at McDonald’s!’
Unsurprisingly, Harry’s list struck a chord with other fast food chain employees, prompting them to share the things they also find annoying.
One of them replied, “when people pull up at the drive-thru and immediately start saying, ‘Hello? Hello? Hello?” repeatedly…”
Another added, “or if they call a frappe a Frappuccino.”
Meanwhile, a third said, “Did a lady ask for a Bacon Chicken Mayo burger with no bacon…”
“All of this leaves me bewildered,” said a fourth.
