Groom accused of ‘ripping’ a Pinterest meme’s speech at his wedding to a glamorous influencer: Here’s why fans insist he did nothing wrong

Wedding images of an influential couple went viral after the groom was accused of copying parts of his wedding speech from a popular Pinterest meme.

Jadé Tuncdoruk, 27, married Lachie Brycki, 29, in the Hunter Valley in October and shocked fans Wednesday by sharing never-before-seen footage from the ceremony on Instagram.

One clip showed Lachie delivering his emotional wedding speech, telling his new bride: ‘When I say I love you more, I don’t mean I love you more than you love me; I want to say that I love you more than the bad days ahead.

‘I love you more than any fight we can have; I love you more than the distance between us; I love you more than any obstacle that may try to come between us,” she added through tears.

Jadé’s followers immediately recognized these passages from a popular poem by writer Erin Nicole, which is often reposted on social media sites like Pinterest.

I know people say let it slide, but as a wedding vow, it needs to be personal. Copying the entire speech of a poem would make me feel less wanted,” another person wrote.

However, others jumped in to defend Lachie, pointing out that some people have a hard time expressing themselves in speech and require a helping hand from the internet.

‘Maybe writing original words wasn’t your forte but you found words that expressed what you felt? And it’s clearly genuine, watch him cry,” wrote one.

Others argued that many people draw inspiration from online dating in their wedding vows and that shaming Lachie for doing so was unfair.

“I think the fact that they are not his words does not take away the meaning of what he said. She clearly resonated with the poem and meant every word she said, her words or not,” someone commented.
