‘There’s a Soap Award on the Way for Me’: Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard makes his Hollyoaks debut with a unique spot in the soap’s opening title sequence.

Danny Beard traded sparkles for life for soap opera stars when they turned up in Hollyoaks on Tuesday night.

The reigning Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK champion even appeared in the show’s opening title sequence in a unique change for the crossover special.

Starring characters Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) and Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw), the episode is set in Brighton and sees the reality star offer advice to the rekindled couple.

Speaking from the soap opera set, Danny joked that a soap opera award was “on the way” after the cameo.

The episode’s grand finale also features an extravagant performance from the star in Love Boat, which was filmed in the seaside town last month.

In the story, the newly reunited couple, Peri and Juliet, enjoy some alone time with a weekend away in the episodes, when they lose all their belongings.

But to the rescue is Danny’s character, who will offer the duo a lift back to Cheshire.

And giving them some pointers along the way at the unexpected crossroads, the Drag Race star will even perform in the episode.

During filming, a unique title sequence featuring Danny was even shot to change Hollyoaks’ usual opening.

Speaking from the soap opera set as they filmed, Danny shared: ‘We’re shooting a title sequence today. I thought it would be a really good idea and now everyone is on board… There’s a soap prize on the way for me, I can feel it.

While actress Niamh was delighted to be working with the star, she said: ‘Working with Danny Beard was absolutely amazing. Doing the story we’re doing, we rarely laugh, and Danny brought them all.

“They were an incredible light to set just by being themselves. They were not only fun, but also very professional. It was an incredible opportunity and we all feel very lucky to have worked with them.’

In the title sequence, the drag star turned heads in a bright pink leopard print skirt and colorful feathered top.
