Emergency services remain on site.

Kalbarri National Park is currently closed for management operations until further notice, the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions has confirmed.

No further details are currently available, including the state of the emu.

The 186,000-acre Kalbarri National Park attracts thousands of visitors each year due to its rugged terrain and relative seclusion.

The inland gorges are known for the abundance of native wildlife and birds, including kangaroos, emus, echidnas, spiny devils, and wedge-tailed eagles.
