Father puts notes in his daughter’s lunchbox for teachers who won’t let her eat her snacks

A British father has revealed how he went to great lengths to prevent his daughter’s teachers from controlling what she eats at school.

Father of three Ross Huntfrom Wales, went to TikTok to explain that he had become annoyed with the way staff at school handled lunchtime with his daughter.

He said teachers insisted she eat her veggies and sandwich before her sweet treats, explaining that he put a note in her lunch box to prevent them from “sticking their noses in (his) daughter’s business.”

The label read, “Welcome to my daughters lunch box! We are aware of the contents of this box and are happy that she can eat whatever she wants.’

Many applauded the father’s efforts and shared their own stories of schools trying to control what their students eat from their own lunchboxes.

In a TikTok video, the father said he was “annoyed” about one of the table ladies at her school telling her what she can eat.

He said the bullying “stopped her from bringing her lunch.”

“It’s fine if you eat the chocolate cake the school gives you, but if you put one in their lunch box, they say, ‘oh no, you shouldn’t have that,'” he said adding that he now has a message on the lid of her lunch box.

He said he printed out a second label, but his partner Rachel said no.

The second label read, “Step away from the lunchbox, you nosy f******** a*** bandit.”

He said he was tempted to “ram (the lunchbox) full of candy,” but added a bun, carrot sticks, an apple, a pear, a bag of chips, rainbow drop lollipops, and a chocolate egg.

“Basically, stop telling kids what they can and can’t eat, let the goddamn parents decide,” he said.

After the father put the note in the lunch box, he hoped her teachers would see it and comply.

Hundreds of parents in the comments sympathized with the father, and many shared his frustration.

Many others were quick to respond to the video, with some saying their kids were “so aware” of what they ate because of school policies

Someone wrote: ‘We worked at a school that served cake, but we had to confiscate a penguin bar from a children’s lunch box, because it’s not allowed. It’s stupid to be honest.’

Another commented, “My son and daughter are so mindful of what they eat because the school promotes ‘healthy eating’.”

A third added: ‘I work at a school and often argue. I’d rather have a child eat and feel full than lots of ‘healthy’ foods they don’t eat.”

Another came up with a new idea for a third label, noting, “My kid gets fed. THANK YOU!’ could be an option.’

“You should be selling these labels!” another TikTok user suggested.”

However, in a follow-up video, he discussed what she ate when she came home from school the next day.

“Okay, let’s see what she brought home in her lunch box. First, she hasn’t touched her rainbow drops.

“Apparently she could only eat them if she had her carrots first,” he said in a follow-up video.

He claimed she hadn’t eaten her carrots because they fell on the floor, but she was too scared to talk to the diner lady.

“She ate her sandwich. For reference, this sandwich would have more sugar than these rainbow drops,” he said.

“That’s six ounces of rainbow drops—take it easy.”

She ate some of her apple but didn’t touch her pear, chips or chocolate gg because she said she didn’t have time.

“Of course she got in the car and was immediately hungry and nothing was said about the label,” said the disgruntled father.

“Basically stick your goddamn nose out of my kid’s business, hopefully this will get sorted out, but I doubt it.”
