Dallas police searching for man caught on video abandoning his German shepherd on a country road

The Dallas Police Department is searching for an insensitive man who was caught on video dumping and abandoning his affectionate German Shepherd on a country road.

Video captured the heartbreaking moment an unidentified man driving a white Chevrolet SUV pulled over to the side of a stretch of road, opened the rear door and pushed his dog out of the vehicle.

A passerby across the street could be heard yelling at the man as he proceeded to drop the dog off and climb back into his vehicle, speeding away as the adorable pup attempted to chase after his owner.

The entire incident was captured on cameras placed along the road by the Dowdy Ferry Animal Commission. The cameras were strategically placed for situations like these.

“It makes me sick to my stomach when I see people take the time to take their dog, drive up here and throw it away like trash as Dowdy Ferry is known for,” said Jeremy Boss of the local animal organization. WFAA.

According to Boss, this was not the first time the group’s cameras had captured an incident like this.

In November, a man was caught dropping a dog at the same location. That dog, a German shepherd, was killed by a passing car and the person who abandoned the animal has yet to be found.

Two years ago, the cameras captured Sebastián Acosta abandoning two puppies. Off camera, the pups were heard howling and were found beaten to death.

Acosta was sentenced to six years in prison for convictions that include animal cruelty.

“That’s one of the thousands of stories that were lucky enough to be told,” Boss told WFAA.

“There are so many stories out there that are not being told and these cameras help tell these stories of where these dogs come from,” he continued.
