Harry Hill wows concertgoers as he performs Cardi B’s rap after joining rock band Black Midi onstage

Harry Hill wowed a crowd of music fans when he appeared on stage and performed a rap by none other than Cardi B.

The 58-year-old comedian joined rock band Black Midi during a recent performance and broke out in a rendition of Cardi’s song I Like It.

Footage from the concert shows Harry dressed in his signature black suit and white shirt as he leapt across the stage to applause from the crowd.

Harry, whose real name is Matthew Hall, performed just one verse of the song and sadly disappeared from the stage in less than a minute.

Black Midi band member Cameron Picton took to Twitter after the show to say that Harry’s cameo was one of the highlights of the group’s career.

He wrote: ‘We’ve done a lot of crazy prestigious stuff that we’re proud of.

“We could perform at the Grammys and even win one, or time travel and play live or some shit, but nothing, NOTHING will beat HARRY HILL coming on stage and doing a Cardi B verse with us tonight.”

Harry opened up about the surprise performance during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Thursday.

He said: ‘They [Black Midi] he said, would you come and do something with us and it finally happened.

Co-host Ben Shepherd responded: ‘Did they have no idea what you were going to do?’

Harry said: ‘I said, ‘how about we do a little Cardi B?’

Harry trained as a physician at the University of London before receiving his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 1988.

He was previously confronted with an old photo from his brief career in the medical profession, which he left to pursue his stand-up career in the early ’90s, during a morning conversation with Lorraine Kelly on her ITV chat show.

Observing the image of himself with a stethoscope appearing on a large screen, the comedian explained: “I was doing understudy at the Southampton hospital, surgery there and driving to London to do a comedy shop there.”

The concert was on a Sunday night at a Mexican restaurant in South Norwood. The third concert I did there was complete silence, people just looked at you.

‘I tried to climb out the window but I had to walk through them [the audience].’

Despite his early setbacks, Harry established a hugely successful stand-up career before foraying into television with shows like Harry Hill’s TV Burp and the radio series Harry Hill’s Fruit Corner.

However, it would suffer an unexpectedly tepid response from fans after the musical I Can’t Sing! -an X Factor-inspired musical based on her own book- flopped in London’s West End.

“From my point of view, it was not a comedown,” he said. ‘It was fun. I have very good memories of her. It ran for six weeks, but we had booked the Palladium for a year!
