Fears for MAFS villain Harrison Boon as fans spot alarming detail about his physical appearance

Health fears for MAFS villain Harrison Boon as fans notice an alarming detail about his appearance at the couples’ retreat: ‘This is concerning’

Eagle-eyed Married At First Sight viewers noticed an unsettling detail about Harrison Boon’s performance during Tuesday’s episode.

The 32-year-old builder had apprentices of different sizes during one of his piece-to-camera interviews during the couples’ retreat, which was filmed in Bargo in early October.

He was talking about the conflict between his wife Bronte Schofield and fellow bride Melinda Willis when the cameras picked up a strange detail.

The pupil in one eye was normal in size, while the pupil in the other eye was dilated.

This is quite rare, as the pupils in each eye usually dilate or contract at the same time to regulate the amount of light entering the eye.

Light isn’t the only reason pupils dilate; they can also enlarge in response to certain medications or injuries, without any change in light.

Having different sized pupils, a condition called anisocoria, is often harmless but can be a sign of more serious medical problems.

Sometimes a person may naturally have unequal pupils (physiological anisocoria). This affects about 15 to 30 percent of the population and is nothing to worry about.

The condition can also be caused by physical damage to the eye (mechanical anisocoria) or by disease (pathological anisocoria).

There isn’t always an underlying cause for unequal pupils, but a sudden and pronounced change in one pupil size could be a sign of a medical emergency.

Disturbingly for Harrison, his different sized pupils seemed to develop quite suddenly as he had similar sized pupils earlier in the season.

Third nerve palsy (TNP), caused by cerebral hemorrhage, trauma or aneurysm, can cause pupils to be different sizes, reports Medical News Today.

Having one abnormally small pupil is also a symptom of Horner’s syndrome, which is caused by a disrupted nerve pathway on one side of the brain to the face and eye.

Certain medications can also cause you to have one large and one small pupil.

Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting that Harrison has a life-threatening medical condition. MAFS was filmed several months ago and he is still alive.

Harrison’s odd pupils were a talking point at the MAFS Australia subreddit on Wednesday, with one user commenting, “Strange that only one is dilated.”

Other fans suggested he may have suffered a brain injury or stroke.

One viewer pointed out that anisocoria is common and “several things can cause it, but . . [it’s] worrying nonetheless…if you don’t know the cause’.
