Katy Perry is accused of ‘bullying’ a very nervous American Idol contestant
Katy Perry is coming under fire for comments she made about an American Idol contestant’s voice.
Sara Bethe Liebe, a 25-year-old mother of three, seemed incredibly nervous as she stood in front of Perry, Lionel Richie, 73, and Luke Bryan, 46.
“Blow our minds, Freaky Friday,” Perry said Sunday.
Perry, who recently shared a cute throwback photo of herself, then made a rude comment about being such a young mother on three occasions, then said out loud: ‘Is this your dream?’
She added: “If it’s not your dream, you may have to leave because there are many dreams behind you.”

Redhead: ‘Scare us, Freaky Friday,’ said Perry
Liebe sang Amy Winehouse’s You Know I’m No Good, and Perry interrupted her performance by saying, “Come on, we need more,” as Liebe continued.
“That’s not enough,” Perry said when Leibe finished singing. “Try Bennie and the Jets,” she instructed, adding that Liebe had nothing to lose because “it’s not her dream yet.”
Perry urged her to “show us what her voice can do, push it to the limit, never look back.”
She added, “Sing it like it’s your new dream.”
Liebe tried to incorporate Perry’s advice into her second song as Perry continued to yell demands at her as she sang.
More of that! Hang in there,” Perry said before calling her an “accidental American Idol.”
“I feel like a comic book character just came to life,” Perry said after Liebe finished, while Bryan expressed his “love” for her performance.
“Look, if it’s not your dream, it won’t go very far because I also respect everyone who is walking through that door who will give their lives for this golden ticket.” [to Hollywood]’ Perry told him.

Sara Beth, you are in the dream now. Go get your golden ticket. Hurry up before the dream ends,” Perry said, dismissing Leibe nonchalantly.
American Idol fans were quick to criticize Perry’s behavior.
“I really don’t like how Katy Perry just treated Sara Beth on American Idol. They let Katy Perry bully this woman on live national TV before she started singing. So ugly,’ wrote a fan on Twitter.
Another fan wrote: ‘Boo to Katy Perry for mom shaming Sara Beth. Insinuating that she’s been ‘lying on the table too much’ to have 3 kids at 25. A young mother who follows a dream while raising her children should be nurtured, not humiliated.’
But some people agreed with Perry’s assessment of Liebe.
‘Katy Perry judging a contestant and a show judging contestants? Shocking. Have you ever heard of @SimonCowell? one fan tweeted.
Meanwhile, another added: “To be honest now is to be intimidating.”
