“It’s still very difficult to write about this, I’ve put off writing this post because it’s easier to put it in the back of my mind and try to keep myself as busy as possible to hide the pain.”

She gushed, ‘Dad was the best dad you could ask for. So loving, funny, honest and the best grandfather for the little ones in our family.

I know how much I would have adored Annabella and I am so thankful to have been able to hold her.

“I think about him every day and talk to Annabella about him when we’re winding down at night.

‘For anyone who has lost someone, you can agree that the nights are the hardest, and talking about him in the past tense is something I hate to do.

“Dad’s life was cut short and his diagnosis came completely out of the blue: he was walking Alfie with me the morning everything changed.

‘Dad was incredibly active, he ran 3 marathons and walked in Richmond Park almost every day. He had so much life left to live.

Mollie continued: ‘My family is completely heartbroken by what this horrible disease has done to Dad and wants to do everything she can to raise awareness and funds for @thebraintumourcharity who works to help everyone affected by brain tumor or brain cancer. .

‘My sister Laura will be running the London marathon in April for this charity. Dad would be incredibly proud!

‘If you would like to support @thebraintumourcharity and my sister in her marathon it would mean a lot and would definitely help give her that extra push to get to the finish line.

‘Any donation, however big or small, is greatly appreciated by us and the charity. Your sponsorship link is in my stories.’

‘For more information on brain tumours, check out the @thebraintumourcharity website, they share some really helpful information and offer fantastic support.

He concluded: “Our lives will never be the same after losing our loving dad and our love and thoughts go out to anyone whose life has also been affected by cancer.”

After her father’s death, Mollie revealed that she had waited “a few more days” so she could meet her new granddaughter.

‘Dad, we love you with all our hearts and will miss you every day. You have been our hero and it is impossible to think of our lives without you.

You have always been there for us with every step we have taken and you even took a few extra days to meet baby Annabella.
