Socceroos midfielder Jackson Irvine was impressed by the star after Manchester United striker Casemiro recently recognized him at an awards ceremony.

The Red Devils star and Irvine met backstage at the FIFPRO World 11 awards in Paris, where the Brazilian star was selected in the top 11 from a shortlist of 26 players.

The World 11, voted on by the players, takes into account performances from August 8, 2021 to December 18, 2022.

Irvine, who attended the event as a member of FIFPRO’s Global Player Council, was caught on video posing for a photo with Casemiro.

After the photo was taken, the former Real Madrid star looked at Irvine and said, “You play for Australia, right?”

“Yes,” replied a stunned Irvine.

“I know, I see you,” Casemiro says.

‘Wow’, says the Aussie as the Brazilian leaves the room.

Irvine can then be seen walking away from the encounter, pretending his legs have given way from the shock.

Someone in the room jokes: “You’ve gone all red, Jackson.”

Irvine fires back, “Buddy, I’m sweating!”

FIFPRO shared the moment on their official Instagram page titled “Even stars get starstruck.”

Casemiro earned his place in the FIFPRO World 11 by helping Real Madrid win the Champions League, LaLiga and the UEFA Super Cup last season.
