‘FSG out’: Liverpool fans wave banner over Anfield calling on owners to sell club before tiebreaker with Man United… while pledging support for team with ‘Klopp in’ included in message

Liverpool fans flew a banner in protest against the club’s owners before their match against Manchester United.

Owners Fenway Sports Group, widely known as FSG, have come under severe scrutiny from the clubs’ fans of late.

They had revealed that they were looking for investors in recent months, leading some supporters to believe that the club was for sale.

But that suggestion was recently shot down, and FSG insisted that’s not the case.

However, several Reds fans have apparently had enough with a plane seen over Anfield before kick-off on Sunday.

The banner read: ‘FSG Out – Klopp In – Enough is Enough’.

There has been much criticism of the club owners’ backing for manager Jurgen Klopp of late despite the club’s successes.

They were on their way to a potential quadruple this time last year, eventually winning the League Cup and FA Cup and coming up short in the Premier League.

They also lost the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Liverpool have used mostly the same equipment in recent years with minimal additions.

Darwin Nunez arrived for £85m in the summer, with other fringe players signing before Cody Gakpo was signed for £37m in January.

But additions have been few and far between, with opponents spending big and the Reds lagging behind in their progress.

They are currently fighting for a top four spot in the Premier League.
