In an NFL Draft pool filled with promising young quarterbacks, University of Kentucky quarterback Will Levis might be the most confident of the bunch.

After working out Friday with other quarterbacks, Levis faced the media and cast himself as possibly the safest of all the other prospects at his position.

“My goal is to win more than anyone,” Levis said. ‘I want to be the greatest of all time. Like, you’re crazy if you don’t think that way.

Levis is a fifth-year student who transferred to Kentucky in 2021 after sitting on the bench at Penn State and showed promise in two seasons with the Wildcats.

The Madison, Connecticut native passed for over 2,800 yards and 24 touchdowns in his first season at Lexington in 2021, posting a 10-3 record and a Citrus Bowl victory.

He followed that up with a step back but solid season of 2,400+ yards and 19 TDs in 2022. However, Kentucky struggled in conference play and only managed a 7-6 record.

Part of that could be due to injuries Levis sustained to his non-throwing shoulder and a toe ailment that limited his running abilities.

That was evident in his stats over the two seasons: having 376 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns in 2021, but then minus-107 rushing yards and just a couple of foot touchdowns.

Levis chose to show off his passing skills at the combine, telling reporters that he “has a cannon” and wanted to “show off.”

He remained self-assured as the interview progressed, trying to convince his potential future employers that he can lead them to greater glory.

‘I mean, I think I can bring you a champion team right now, you know? That’s the confidence I have,’ Levis said when asked what he can bring to an NFL team as a rookie.

“I think I’m able to assimilate very, very well, better than anyone I think.

“That’s the confidence that I have just from my experience and just from my physical tools, I think I’ll be able to plug into any offense, learn it well and become a leader very quickly.”

After a toe injury affected his running skills, Levis showed off his arm 'cannon'.

The quarterback didn’t rule out that he still has work to do, but the 23-year-old said he’s committed to developing and improving his craft.

“Obviously the goal is to progress,” he said. ‘I’m going to improve every year. I don’t expect to be the best quarterback in the league early on.

‘But, I mean, that’s what development is about. And that’s what I will lean on with the coaches, staff and players around me to help me get to that level.

While he knows he’ll be fighting other top quarterback prospects like Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s CJ Stroud and Florida’s Anthony Richardson, Levis just wants the team that chooses him to believe in his abilities.

“I don’t focus on things I can’t control, but I want to be selected as high as possible,” he said. ‘At the end of the day, I just want the team that believes in me. I have to make someone fall in love with me. And that’s all it takes.
