Sarah Ferguson attends glitzy film festival in Los Angeles

The Duchess of York was a vision in pink as she attended the final day of a glitzy Los Angeles film festival last night.

Sarah Ferguson, 63, attended the Filming Italy Festival shortly after revealing in a candid interview that Meghan Markle clearly makes Prince Harry “very happy”.

He added that Princess Diana would be “proud of him and his lovely grandchildren”, saying of Meghan: “She really loves him, and I think that’s beautiful.”

In the extensive interview, published by The TelegraphThe Duchess also vowed to “always be there” for her disgraced ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

Sarah, who married Andrew in 1986 before separating in 1992, attended a glamorous film festival in California last night where she presented an award with founder Tiziana Rocca.

For the occasion, she rocked a long pink leather-look coat, teamed with fuchsia wide-legged pants and a sleek black top.

The mother-of-two wore her brown locks loose around her shoulders, completing her look with a pair of sparkly earrings and pointed black heels.

On Friday, the Duchess said she was grateful to have “even a minute” of the Queen’s time before her death in September last year.

He added that Princess Diana would be “proud of him and his lovely grandchildren”, saying of Meghan: “She really loves him, and I think that’s beautiful.”

For the occasion, she wore a long pink leather-effect coat, combined with fuchsia wide-leg pants and an elegant black blouse.

She told the newspaper: ‘Because also, for the last three years, your poor son [Andrew] she’s been going through such a tumultuous time and I think HM was very relieved that I was able to help her with it, so we became even closer.

I have always admired and adored her. Really, she was more of a mother to me than my mother.

Sarah added that it was ‘sad; to see what Andrew has been through, when he discusses the sexual assault allegations against his ex-husband, which led to an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre.

Asked if the queen trusted her to be there for Andrew after he died, Sarah added: “She knew.” I will always be there. Always. Because I love her.’

Sarah and Andrew’s two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are among the late Queen’s eight grandchildren.

Andrew quit public life after the furor over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and paid millions to settle a civil case of sexual assault on a woman he claimed he never met.

The duke was ousted from the working-class monarchy and no longer wears his HRH style after Ms Giuffre, who was trafficked by Epstein, accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17.

The duke denied the claims.
