Alvin Kamara and Chris Lammons plead not guilty to criminal charges after Las Vegas beatdown

NFL stars Alvin Kamara and Chris Lammons have pleaded not guilty to criminal charges following their alleged role in the brutal beating of a man at a Las Vegas nightclub last year.

Both appeared in a Las Vegas court Wednesday at an arraignment hearing, and both said very few words during the session.

The NFL couple, as well as two other men named Darrin Young and Percy Harris, the latter of whom was identified in court as Kamara’s manager, pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit assault (a misdemeanor). and assault resulting in substantial bodily harm. (a crime).

A court date was set for July 31, which is typically during NFL training camps that Kamara and Lammons were expected to attend.

The incident occurred inside The Cromwell Hotel and Casino in February 2022, just hours before the NFL Pro Bowl at Allegiant Stadium.

The NFL players were with their lawyers at the hearing, before a trial date was set for July 31.

According to a lawsuit filed by the alleged victim, Darnell Greene, the fight occurred after he got into an argument with New Orleans Saints star Kamara over the use of an elevator outside the hotel’s Drai’s Nightclub.

KLAS reported that the incident began when Kamara put his hand on the man’s chest to prevent him from entering the elevator with the group and escalated when the man pushed Kamara’s hand away.

In the clips, from two different angles, a group of people can be seen making their way down the hallway, with two men initially appearing to attack a third. More people follow the group, and two other men join in the beating.

After a particularly brutal beating, the alleged assault victim, Greene, of Houston, Texas, apparently hit his head against a wall before being pushed to the ground.

A second angle shows the alleged victim falling to the ground before being kicked by the group.

An individual can then be seen repeatedly kicking him while he is on the ground. It is not immediately clear who is who in the clip.

Greene sued for more than $10 million in damages in October and claims the beating left him with disfigurements and mental anguish.

Neither Kamara nor Lammons have been punished by their NFL teams, the New Orleans Saints and Cincinnati Bengals respectively, since the incident, and both played regularly through the 2022 season.

Greene (seen before the assault) suffered a broken orbital lobe and other injuries in the attack.

Kamara, 27, appeared in 15 games, including 13 starts, and rushed for 897 yards and two touchdowns.

He had 57 receptions for 490 yards and two TDs.

Lammons played for the Chiefs in 2022 and was waived by the Bengals before the AFC Championship Game.

The 27-year-old played just 19 snaps on defense, but was in the game on 75 percent of special teams snaps.

In 16 games, he forced a fumble and made seven tackles.
