Alesha Dixon reveals that new BGT judge Bruno Tonioli has left her bruised as series ‘throws the rules’

Alesha Dixon has revealed that the enthusiasm of new Britain’s Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli has left her with ‘Bruno bruises’.

Speaking on Thursday’s Lorraine, the singer, 44, joked that sitting next to the 67-year-old former Strictly star has left her a little worse for wear.

He told the driver: ‘I had some bruises from Bruno, that’s what I like to call them’, clarifying that he did them accidentally, he said: ‘He likes to grab the arm’.

Bruno joined the ITV talent show earlier this year after David Walliams, 51, quit when it was revealed he had called an elderly contestant a ‘c***’ and made vile sexual comments about a woman who participated.

Alesha went on to say that Bruno had a hard time understanding the rules: “On the second day we just threw the rule book away and this is the year that anything goes.”

She continued: ‘Every year, without fail, you’re seeing something you’ve never seen before. After the last few years we’ve had people excited to get on stage and show their talent, the level this year has been phenomenal.

The TV personality looked sensational for her television appearance in a ruched minidress that hugged every inch of her figure.

She opted for a radiant makeup palette and pulled her black locks back into a low ponytail.

Alesha completed the look with a selection of gold jewelry and beamed as she chatted with host Lorraine Kelly.

Elsewhere in the chat, she discussed her upcoming hosting duties at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool in May.

She said: ‘We have a great responsibility when speaking for Ukraine, we have to represent their culture. It’s in Liverpool, which is the city of music. I can’t wait to see who represents the UK.

“Music brings people together, makes people feel good, and we need it more than anything right now. I can’t wait to see who represents the UK.”

Presenting the grand finale on May 13 to a global audience of 160 million, Alesha will join Eurovision legend Graham Norton, along with Ukrainian singer-songwriter and frontman of alternative band The Hardkiss, Julia Sanina.

As well as Emmy Award-winning actress Hannah Waddingham.

Julia, Hannah and Alesha will present the two semi-finals live on May 9 and 11 from Liverpool.

Ukrainian broadcaster Timur Miroshnychenko will be the Eurovision correspondent in Liverpool, appearing in VT inserts during the live shows and providing live information from the Ukraine comment box at Liverpool Arena.

He will headline the live broadcast of the opening ceremony on the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel together with Liverpudlian presenter Sam Quek.

For the big final commentary on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, Graham and comedian Mel Giedroyc will take turns in the commentary box giving viewers at home their unique and expert views on the acts of 2023.

For the first time in UK Eurovision Song Contest history, both semi-finals will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Radio DJs Scott Mills and Rylan will bring their colorful commentary to UK audiences.

There will be a special commentary team on BBC Radio Merseyside, including Claire Sweeney and the winner of The Voice of Eurovision talent search, which is currently underway to discover new Liverpudlian talent.
