Feng Shui expert Jemma (pictured) has shocked her followers after revealing the everyday items you should never have in your bedroom.
He said that having a TV, plants or a fish tank in your bedroom can wreak havoc on your sleep, health and relationships.
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art that holds that the configuration of buildings, objects, and spaces can affect your daily life.
Those who practice the tradition follow certain pattern guidelines to achieve balance and harmony in their lives.
“Three things I will never allow in my bedroom as a Feng Shui expert,” Gemma said when sharing her guide on TikTok.
The first item he told his followers to get rid of is a television, explaining that the energy radiating from the screen can cause health problems, lack of sleep, and intimacy issues.
“The screen acts like a mirror, bouncing energy around the room at night, which results in health problems and poor quality sleep, and can also cause intimacy problems between a couple,” he said.
Jemma also advised against having plants in the bedroom because they “just have too much yang energy.”
Feng Shui focuses on the balance between yin and yang energy, yin is passive and calm, while yang is active.
“A bedroom is meant to be a quiet, relaxing, calm yin environment, so if you’re not sleeping well, this could be why,” she said.
The last thing he said you should never have is a fish tank or an aquarium.
“They might look great, but again there’s too much yang energy,” he explained.
Jemma added that even without yang energy, open sources of water can “activate negative energy.”
“I don’t have a mirror, a TV and plants around my bed,” said one woman, echoing the thoughts of many others who admitted to having at least one of the items.
“Me with three fish tanks in my room,” said another.
Several people have complained that it is ‘impossible’ to do Feng Shui in your bedroom if you live in a studio.
Many people took issue with Jemma’s claim that plants are bad for you.
“I don’t agree with plants…I started sleeping better after adding a ton of plants to my room,” said one woman.
