SBS will premiere its brutal new real-life adventure series Alone Australia on March 29.
Based on the hit American format, the Australian version of the reality show was filmed in Tasmania.
It follows a group of ten self-sufficiency experts as they try to survive in the wild with nothing but what’s on their backs, as they all compete for a $250.00 cash prize.
Without a production or camera crew, players must film their own experience as they try to survive.
The cast includes a diverse batch of contestants, including an Army veteran, an adventurer, and a wildlife biologist.

The rest of the cast features Army veteran Chris, 39, bushcraft teacher and ‘barefoot nomad’ Gina, 52, wildlife biologist Kate, 41, reclusive adventurer Mike, 45, environmental officer Duan, 35, hunting guide Peter, 31, and planning and environmental. Manager Rob, 41.
Alone is one of the biggest reality franchises in the world, and SBS already airs the original American version of the show, which airs on the US History channel.
According to SBS Director of Factual, Joseph Maxwell, said that Alone has accumulated 10 million hours of viewing on SBS on Demand.
In the US version of the show, the ultimate winner takes home US$500,000.
