She appears on the show, which occasionally takes a documentary-style approach to its subject matter, as the wife of Sam Claflin’s character, Billy Dunne.

The series is inspired by the best-selling novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Camila joked that she was one of the only lead actresses in the miniseries who didn’t have to learn to sing or play an instrument, since her character isn’t part of the band.

‘For two years, I relaxed!’ she said between laughs from the hosts. “But they actually inspired me, and I ended up playing guitar on my own during the pandemic, because I was like, ‘I want to be cool like them.'”

She also talked about working on her follow-up project, titled Gonzo Girl, which is being helmed by first-time director Patricia Arquette.

‘I keep saying [she’s] the coolest women I’ve ever met,” Camila said, before saying how Patricia remained confident in her abilities even after the film temporarily lost funding and some of its cast before regrouping.

“He was just by my side the whole time,” she added, noting that Patricia had “never met me.”

Camila, who normally resides in Los Angeles, also shared with the hosts that she would be moving to New York.

‘That’s a secret from us guys!’ she joked.

However, the news turned out to work in their favor, as Al Roker shared that they had gotten him some tasty food that epitomized the Big Apple, including pizza from Joe’s Pizza and a bag of smoked salmon from Russ & Daughters.

Camila was surprised, since she had mentioned that those were her two favorite places in New York City.

He was even more surprised when he grabbed the pizza box and found that it was hot and ready to eat since he had assumed it was just stage pizza.
