West Ham United have joined the clubs that are interested in signing Bristol City teenager Alex Scott.
The 19-year-old midfielder earned plaudits from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola following his performance against the Premier League champions in the FA Cup on Tuesday night.
His own boss, Nigel Pearson, has also suggested that he play for England.
The Guernsey-born Scott is already being compared to David Beckham and Jack Grealish, even being nicknamed ‘the Guernsey Grealish’, and was the subject of offers from Wolves in January.
However, Scott is valued at £25m and that proved to be too high a price for Wolves as they continue to assess Bristol City No 7.

The midfielder impressed in his team’s FA Cup loss against Manchester City on Tuesday night.
Newcastle United have also overhauled Scott, who has already amassed 76 appearances since making his City debut in 2021 and has capped for England at U20 level.
Highly respected by manager Nigel Pearson, he has been offered a new contract to stay at Ashton Gate, but the club anticipate more offers to come this summer.
Tottenham, Everton, Brighton and Bournemouth, who tried to sign him as a 16-year-old from Guernsey, are keeping brief watch on him.
West Ham are also now firmly in the mix after sending head of recruiting Rob Newman to run the rule on the teenager against City on Tuesday night.
The resurgence of City and England star Phil Foden continued with a fine brace to send Guardiola’s side through to the quarter-finals.
“It’s been one of the lowest parts of my career,” Foden said. ‘I’ve had discomfort in my feet and I haven’t been playing as much.
“I love playing football and when I don’t, I feel a bit frustrated. We haven’t won the FA Cup in a while and it’s something we’ve been talking about a lot.
Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, on his return to the side, scored a late third to put shine on the result.
