Euphoria star Hunter Schafer says she was worried she’d be typecast
Hunter Schafer has shared her fears of being ‘stuck’ in roles that only relate to how she identifies after rising to stardom as Jules Vaughn in Euphoria.
During a new interview in the April issue of United KingdomThe actress, 24, detailed her fears of being typecast and sweetly touched on her close off-screen friendship with co-star Zendaya, who plays Rue Bennett.
Hunter, who was originally a model before appearing on the show, made her acting debut as a transgender high school student in the HBO teen drama series.
After the first series, Hunter revealed that her Instagram following skyrocketed by 1 million and interest in her and her co-stars has only increased after the release of the second season in 2022.
She said: ‘From the airing of the first episode to my first million followers on Instagram, it’s been like a month. It was a great fit, for sure.

Fears: During a new interview in the April issue of ELLE UK, the actress, 24, detailed her fears of being typecast and touched sweetly on her close off-screen friendship with co-star Zendaya, who plays Rue Bennett .
‘Nobody really knew if the show was going to be that successful, you know? It’s weird, because I thought it would even out after the first season, but I felt like the second season doubled in size.
However, since then, Hunter revealed that he has been sent many scripts for new projects, but found that many people offer similar roles to Jules.
She said: ‘When I started reading scripts, people just wanted to send me a lot of roles like Jules or how I identify. It was a little scary for me to be stuck in the same role over and over again.
Hunter continued, “I’ve been pretty intentional about making sure everything feels a step away from each other and a little bit different.”
Elsewhere during the chat, Hunter opened up about his close friendship with co-star Zendaya, who plays his girlfriend Rue.
She told the publication: ‘There’s a lot of real-life learning that’s happening alongside our characters. It’s a very complicated relationship to play. [In real life] we are so close and have a very sweet, soft and loving friendship.’
Alongside the interview, Hunter posed for an incredible photo shoot in a series of jaw-dropping looks, including a stunning white tulle gown.
Hunter also modeled a skintight black jumpsuit with sheer cutout sections, showing off her incredible physique.

Hunter first made her mark as a model, working for high-profile brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Teen Vogue, who all featured her on their ’21 Under 21′ list in 2017.
Hunter would hit lightning fast in his transition to acting, landing his first role in Euphoria in 2019.
In addition to her lead role on the series, Schafer also co-wrote an episode with the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, and served as co-executive producer.
Both Zendaya and Schafer, along with many of the other cast members, have seen their stars rise in Hollywood after being on Euphoria for two seasons.
Hunter is in a happy relationship with her co-star Dominic Fike, who plays her love interest Elliot.
In a GQ profile, Dominic said that he is so in love that he tries to see Hunter as often as possible in any way possible.
The Florida native recalled how he once visited the Prada store in Soho eight times over four days, not only to buy clothes, but also to see the face of his love in the ads for the luxury brand in the windows.
“That’s the best part,” she gushed about her trips to the designer’s boutique.
