Jessica ‘Jess’ Girod broke down in tears after Zach Shallcross sent her home for feeling unsafe on Monday’s episode of The Bachelor on ABC.

The 23-year-old e-commerce coordinator from Winter Springs, Florida, was feeling anxious after Zach, 26, a technology executive from Anaheim Hills, California, refused to offer her a one-on-one date in Estonia.

‘What do you say I’m the only one who doesn’t have one?’ Jess wailed.

Gabriella ‘Gabi’ Elnicki, 25, of Pittsford, Vermont, tried to comfort her by pointing out that Greer Blitzer, 24, of Bellaire, Texas, had also not received a one-on-one appointment.

“Greer’s not here, Greer has COVID!” Jess yelled referring to Greer’s absence due to illness.

Jess remained anxious throughout the group date in Estonia with Zach which included a meeting with an Estonian witch.

Each woman held a candle as she looked into Zach’s eyes and it was an ominous sign when the wind blew out Jess’s candle flame.

Jess shared with others that she felt like she was having a panic attack and that her anxiety only increased when Zach at the cocktail party called 27-year-old Kaitlyn ‘Kaity’ Biggar, 27, of Kingston, Ontario for the first time to talk.

Zach also strengthened his connection with Gabi at the party, before calling Jess to talk.

She shared her frustration at being passed over for a one-on-one date.

This is news to me. With you since the first night, I felt something there. We will have time to get to know each other,” Zach said.

“I’m sorry you haven’t seen all of me,” Jess told him.

He told her that they didn’t need to go on a one-on-one date to have meaningful conversations.

“I feel so confident in us and then it comes down to one on one. What am I missing?’ Zach said.

Jess said it was a “big deal” for her and Zach began to grow bitter towards her.

“I feel like there’s that disconnect, I guess,” Zach said. ‘I don’t feel any more confident about this and I feel nervous and I don’t think I can feel completely nervous. So I don’t know how you feel, but I don’t feel that confident, as hard as it is and it pains me to say it.

Jess said she didn’t want to beg for her affection,

“I told you from the beginning that I’m not going to fight for someone,” he said. I told you all I wanted was someone to fight for me.

Zach told her it wasn’t going to work between them and went with her.

She later informed the other women that Jess had left and revealed that she would cancel the rose ceremony.

During the two-hour episode, Zach went on his one-on-one date with Charity Lawson, 26, of Columbus, Georgia, who was scrapped when she contracted COVID.

Doesn’t Work: Zach told her it wasn’t going to work between them and went with her.

He also went on a personal date with Ariel Frankel, 28, a marketing executive from New York City.

Alyssa ‘Aly’ Jacob, 26, of Smyrna, Georgia, was knocked out during the rose ceremony.

The Bachelor will return next week on ABC.
