Strange moment, white ‘Karen’ berates two black men for shoveling free snow outside her home

A TikTok video is going viral in which a white woman calls the police on two young black men for shoveling snow, claiming they were bothering her and showing her no “respect.”

Gregory McAdory said that he and his friend own a snow removal business in Rockford, Illinois, where the video was filmed.

He claimed that on February 17, after a winter storm blanketed the area, he and his friend went to the driveway of a friend’s father’s house so they could clear it out.

Once they were done with the driveway, they moved to the sidewalk in front of a neighbor’s house, which they also began clearing.

It was then that the neighbor, a relatively older woman, came out and ‘molested’ the two young men, demanding that they leave and threatening to call the police, which they eventually did.

The little old lady with an accent told the two young men to stop shoveling their snow and to stay off their property.

‘Are you seriously mad that we cleaned your sidewalk?’ McAdory asked in the video, as the woman takes snow from the filled bank and returns it to the sidewalk.

The woman then tells the young man and his companion: ‘Don’t cross that line!’

I do not need anything from you! she tells them with an accent.

The two young men continue the interaction and, in disbelief, tell her that they are doing something good for her. The friend continues to shovel the snow.

The woman tells them that they are trespassing and they tell her that it is a public sidewalk.

Eventually, he pulls out his phone to call the police, at which point McAdory said, “They’ll come quicker if you say there’s two blacks around here.”

Although he appeared to have been recording before the woman pulled out her phone to call police, McAdory told the daily beast: ‘When people of my color are called to the police, just to be sure, I just say, ‘Record.’

He can be heard saying that he will put the internet interaction in the background of the video.

On the phone, the woman told police: ‘These guys are African American. I don’t get along with them.

‘They are making fun of me. Look, they have no respect! she said.

A Rockford Police Department log confirmed the call was made at 12:30 p.m. on February 17.

The caller, the woman whose name was blocked, reported disorderly conduct and an “urgent” need for help.

According to the notes, “there is a [race redacted]/M there harassing her and she doesn’t want him there.’

A different note said there were ‘2 [race redacted]/[males].’

“She says she is being disrespected and wants them gone,” the note read.

In a second video McAdory uploaded to Tiktok, two Rockford police officers arrived at the scene and are standing in front of his vehicle.

One of the officers says the woman may have a mental illness.

They go and talk to the woman and tell the men to stay off their property and not shovel the snow.

The Daily Beast reported that a police report of the incident was not taken and that officers were on the scene for less than 20 minutes.

McAdory said this was not the first time the woman had threatened to call the police.

Apparently, the last time the couple shoveled their driveway, the woman was upset that they disturbed her lawn.

McAdory said they believed that clearing a path on the sidewalk would show the woman that they could be good neighbors. He said her friend’s family has known the woman for 15 years.

I do not not know what happens. I don’t know if it’s racism,’ she said. I just didn’t want to get arrested for something as petty as that.
