New Zealand beat England by just one run in Wellington in a remarkable finish to an incredible Test match.
Set 258 to win, England looked in trouble at 80-5 before recovering to 201-5. Victory seemed to have slipped out of their hands again after Ben Stokes, Joe Root (just five runs shy of their second century of the match) and Stuart Broad all went down to leave the tourists 215-8.
Ben Foakes then guided his team to the brink of victory before falling for 35 with England just seven runs short of their target.
Confidence was restored once more when James Anderson hit an improbable four off Neil Wagner, but Wagner got the last laugh when Anderson took him up the side of the leg to Tom Blundell.
