This is the shocking moment a popular drag queen was denied service by a taxi driver before she was pushed “by a homeless person” during Australia’s largest LGBTQ+ rights festival.

The footage shows a taxi driving away when they saw the artist, who goes by Penny Tration, leaving her on a Sydney street struggling to get home while carrying several bags.

After being denied another taxi, Penny was “pushed” by a homeless person and struggled to her feet before being helped by a nearby bar manager who was trained in first aid.

The Challenge star Suzan Mutesi uploaded a clip of Penny’s harrowing experience to TikTok, who urged others to be more respectful of drag performers.

Penny had hosted The Sporting Globe x 4 Pins Gender Bender Bingo at Darling Harbor before the fight.

The shocking footage shows a taxi speeding away before Penny yells “I just told you where we were going, you fucker” and throws her Christian Dior bag into the taxi.

He explained that the driver did not want to take drag queens, despite attending the pickup over Mardi Gras weekend.

While waiting for the next taxi, Penny was pushed and footage showed her lying in the street before a nearby bar manager arrived to help her up.

Finally, the artist was able to get into a taxi.

“Just be nice, show more grace and love,” Suzan said of the clip.

Sydney is playing host to WorldPride this year, with thousands of LGBTQ+ people from around the world descending on Australia to celebrate.

Sydney’s Oxford Street was ablaze with glitter on Saturday after 300,000 partygoers celebrated the Mardi Gras parade.

Anthony Albanese became the first sitting Prime Minister to march in the parade, while big names including MAFS model Evelyn Ellis and PE Nation founder Pip Edwards were spotted in the crowd.

Former Greens senator Lidia Thorpe caused a scene when she disrupted the parade and lay down in front of an Australian Federal Police float after yelling “fuck the police”.

The event followed a successful WorldPride opening concert at the Domain on Friday night, when Kylie Minogue headlined a performance that included a surprise cameo from her sister Dannii.

WorldPride will continue for another week before ending with a historic march across the Sydney Harbor Bridge.

Fifty thousand people dressed in their brightest colors will cross the milestone in a call for global equality on Sunday morning.

WorldPride has been called the largest event in Sydney since the 2000 Olympics, expected to host more than half a million people at its approximately 300 events.
