All Elite Wrestling star Kenny Omega is open to joining WWE, according to reports.

The former AEW World Champion will soon see his contract with the company expire.

Reports suggest his contract was due to end in January, but because he missed several months with injury, it was apparently extended until November.

There have been various suggestions that a deal could be reached between WWE and the 39-year-old Omega, though a potential deal is still some way off.

According to Wade Keller of P.W.Torchthe current AEW trios champion would be open to doing business when his contract with AEW ends.

“I have not independently verified the rumors that WWE is interested in Omega, I have confirmed that they are aware of Omega’s open-mindedness to come to WWE,” Keller said.

That is what I have been told, that he has an open mind to land in WWE before his career ends. The attitude is not “I love AEW, I will stay here forever.”

That is apparently not the belief within WWE. They don’t think that’s Kenny’s mentality right now.

Omega signed with AEW in February 2019, a month after the promotion launched, and is executive vice president of the company along with his teammates The Young Bucks.

One of the company’s most popular wrestlers, Omega has also appeared in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor, among other promotions throughout his career.

In December 2020 he became the AEW World Champion and held the belt until November 2021.

In 2021, he said of WWE’s current chief creative officer Triple H: “I think HHH is still one of the guys for most of his career.”

“I’m sure a lot of the way he runs his business, WWE, NXT and all those things that he has a finger in, I really think he does it for the good of the fans as well.”

If he were to join WWE, it’s likely that his The Young Bucks teammates would move in with him as well.

Cody Rhodes, who was also an executive vice president of AEW, moved to WWE last year.
