Ben Affleck looks unrecognizable with a curly perm and an 80s suit for the Nike movie

Sporting a waterproof suit, mirrored lenses and what appears to be a perm, here’s a Hollywood star like she’s never been seen before.

The actor looks hilarious as Nike executive Phil Knight in this first still from the movie Air.

It will tell the story of how the (then) old-fashioned sportswear company went all-in to land basketball rookie Michael Jordan a contract in 1984.

This unrecognizable Hollywood star is not only starring in the film but directing it and will be working alongside his friend Matt Damon in the film.

So do you know who it is?

Who is it? Wearing a rainsuit, mirrored sunglasses, and what appears to be a perm, here’s a Hollywood star like she’s never been seen before.

Yes, it’s Ben Affleck!

The first trailer for his star-studded new movie Air dropped earlier this month and showed off the all-star cast, which also includes Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, and Viola Davis.

One star not appearing in the film will be Michael Jordan.

Oscar winner Affleck said of: “I thought, ‘The moment I turn the camera on someone and ask the audience to believe that person was Michael Jordan, the whole movie falls apart.

“I want Michael Jordan to have the effect on this story that he had on the world. In a way, it is a presence that is felt and commented on.

Everyone around him is there, but you never see his face.

The trailer for Air begins with Damon playing sports executive Sonny Vaccaro as he listens to how sales and growth at Nike’s basketball division are trending downward before being called into the office of Nike founder Phil Knight (Affleck ), where they give him a stern talk.

This is followed by Howard White (Chris Tucker) and George Raveling (Marlon Wayans) telling Vaccaro that nobody likes Nike shoes.

When discussing a new idea with his boss (Bateman) regarding the individual player sponsorship proposal, Vaccaro is told that he needs a pretty convincing presentation.

“I can tell you something that other companies can’t compete with yours,” says Vaccaro. ‘Our basketball division is terrible.’

‘I don’t love it,’ his boss replies sardonically.

Vaccaro then watches numerous tapes in search of the perfect player to collaborate with before finding one and showing it to Bateman’s character.

‘Who is that Jesus? I can’t afford it,” he replies to Vaccaro.

Damon then drives and shows up unannounced at the home of an older couple (Davis and Julius Tennon) who seem skeptical of his intentions.

The trailer shows a montage, underscored by Vaccaro’s powerful plea to Knight to hire a rookie to be one of the biggest faces of the brand.

In the montage, he plays craps in a casino and can be seen losing, but taking the dice again and giving them another chance.

The whole speech:

Office Called: Vaccaro is called into the office of Nike founder Phil Knight (Affleck), where Knight gives him a stern pep talk.

Knight’s voice can then be heard asking what his plan is and Vaccaro responds, “We built a line of shoes just for him.”

Vaccaro tells a designer he needs “the best basketball shoe ever made,” and when asked who it’s for, he answers ironically “Michael Jordan.”

During a meeting with Davis’ character, who is Jordan’s mother Deloris, Vaccaro tells her, “I believe in your son.” I think he is the future. And his story will make us want to fly. But a shoe is just a shoe.

“Until my son gets into it,” she replies as a man, whose face is obscured but possibly the actor playing Michael Jordan, flips a red and white sneaker in his hands.

The trailer ends with a humorous scene in which Knight asks Vaccaro if he has a name for the shoe. Vaccaro tells him that his name is Air Jordan and Knight makes a face.

‘Oh really?’ Vaccaro asks upon seeing the face to which Knight replies, “Maybe it will grow on me.

Air will be released exclusively in theaters on April 5.
